"I was 48, a single mother with no job and no medical insurance and was visiting my sister in Tacoma when I first discovered a lump in my breast.

I came to the KWA Breast Cancer Navigator Program and met with Dr.Soon Ja Han. With Dr. Han’s help, I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer with chemotherapy and radiation. Dr. Han made appointments for me and led me to a path for treatment. When you’re vulnerable, you can hardly find the help you need. When there’s someone there to help you, it’s wonderful.

One important thing I learned from Dr. Han is that early cancer detection is key. It’s really important. Detection and go in for treatment. I don’t think I’d be alive if I hadn’t come to KWA." - Jewel
