Providing food stamps & education to people in need

KWA’s Basic Food Education and Outreach Program partners with DSHS to provide food stamps and food stamp education to Pierce, King, and Snohomish County residents.

Started in 1999, the program serves more than 100 clients. Our five bilingual (Korean and Hispanic) outreach workers serve clients in three counties reaching 11 nationalities.

Services

Specific services/benefits include:basic food meal featured small

  • Complete food stamp application and follow-up
  • Native language and/or translation assistance
  • Services provided in client’s own home or nearby location
  • No intimidation with a government office environment
  • No hassle of waiting at DSHS
