Housing: The Most Basic of Human Needs

All of us live somewhere. The issue is HOW we live. The 1949 Housing Act promised a decent home and a suitable living environment for all families. This is an eloquent affirmation of housing’s place as the most basic of human needs. Regardless of its form, from single room occupancy to mansion, from White House to low-income apartments, housing represents a sanctuary for the human spirit, the quintessential shelter from all manner of storms. It is the central place in our lives, consuming the single largest share of our income, while symbolizing stability and security.

We Care How People Live

KWA cares how people live. We believe that a home supports the dignity and comfort of each person and that a society well-housed fulfills one of society’s most fundamental responsibilities.

KWA owns and manages a varied portfolio of properties including housing for working, disabled and seniors with various incomes. We own over 200 units of affordable housing and manage our properties so that they are attractive and blend into the surrounding community.
