The Orchard Project includes five single family homes in Roy, Washington, for those with low income.
Developed in 2006, The Orchard Project boasts five passive solar and energy-efficient homes in a rural setting of gardens and an 8-acre apple orchard overseen by a KWA caretaker. The homes have three bedrooms, 2 baths, fireplace, covered front and back porches, fenced yard and access to community gardens. The apple orchards annually produce fresh apples that are donated to local food banks.
KWA is now accepting applications for residents to live at The Orchard Project.
Eligibility Requirements and Rent
Applicants must earn 60% or less of Pierce County’s annual median income level pursuant to Hud published income guidelines. For example, a family of five would have to have an annual income of $40,260 or less to qualify.
Rent is 30% of total family monthly income.
