Creating a better quality of life for seniors with Alzheimers disease or dementia
KWA’s Senior Day Care program began as a pilot program in 1994 for Korean elders in Pierce County with Alzheimer’s disease. More fully developed in 1997, the Senior Day Care is now an ethic-based program offering activities to promote the health and well-being of frail, impaired senior citizens and those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. KWA’s Senior Day Care has been recognized nationally as one of the most outstanding programs for ethnic-based senior day care centers and serves over 7,500 clients each year. Populations served include Korean, Samoan, Hawaiian, Filipino and Japanese.
