Director of Development & Special Projects

Brenda started her career working for non-profits as a fundraiser for the Western Washington Chapter of the March of Dimes nearly 30 years ago.  She later worked in the private sector opening and growing two businesses with her most recent role including community outreach where she cultivated partnerships with organizations throughout Pierce County aimed at serving vulnerable individuals in our community. She has enjoyed volunteering for organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club, Emergency Food Network, Tacoma Rescue Mission, Salvation Army and Compassion International. As a member of Tacoma Rotary 8, she has chaired the Literacy Committee since 2020 allowing her to partner with local organizations and community members who share a passion for improving the lives of those under-served in our community through programs that promote literacy.

Brenda loves to connect with people and cultivate relationships. Her work as Director of Development is aimed at creating a greater awareness of KWA’s meaningful work in our communities and increasing support for the many services provided through our programs.

When not out in the community, Brenda enjoys time at home with her family and friends. She loves to work in her garden and is most happy on a waterski early in the morning.
