The Korean Women’s Association has long felt that education is the key to successfully surviving and eventually thriving in this country.  From early on we have stressed the importance of providing information and education about nutrition and proper health; obtaining a driver’s license; learning English as a second language; applying for citizenship; preparing a resume; and navigating medical, dental, and insurance challenges experienced here. Through education, people can learn to solve their problems more effectively.

In the last few years, KWA has developed a Lifelong Learning Center which offers courses and activities of interest which can improve the students’ well-being and quality of life. The center’s activities also provide insight and help them to adapt to the nuances of cultural variations.  Classes may involve dance, games, and crafts, and highlight cultural differences and similarities, for all ethnic groups and ages. Participants include seniors, teens, and elementary to pre-school age children.
