KWA receives funding from the WA State Department of Health’s Maternal, Infant, and Child Health program to launch our Culturally Responsive, Integrated, Strength-Based Parenting (CRISP) program. Free lunch and $20 gift card provided for each parent that attends each session.
What: CRISP classes provide education and skills in preventative and community health, like nutrition, diabetes prevention, cancer prevention, and screening, infant and toddler health, and developing a healthy plan and budget.
Who: Designed to address maternal and infant health disparities among the African American, Pacific Islander, and Native American parents. Also open to parents of other backgrounds who are experiencing significant socioeconomic barriers.
