Senior Activity Centers

KWA oversees the operation of two senior centers in partnership with the City of Tacoma:

  • Beacon Senior Activity Center
  • Lighthouse Senior Activity Center

Beginning the week of June 6, Beacon Activity Center (415 13th Street) and Lighthouse Activity Center (5016 A Street) will reopen for onsite senior services.

Reopening does come with some programming changes. Participants will be able to receive senior meals at both locations Monday through Friday. Programming will rotate between locations
Hours of operation will remain the same: 8 am — 3 pm and programming will be available. When the centers are closed, lunches will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 12-12:30.

• Mondays and Tuesdays – at Beacon Activity Center (415 13th Street)
• Thursdays and Fridays – at Lighthouse Activity Center (5016 A Street)
• Wednesdays – No Programming Available.

To participate in programs offered at the Centers, participants need to register through each center, be residents of the City of Tacoma residents, and are age 60 and older.

Shuttle transportation is available for Tacoma residents and should call the centers for further details and paperwork.

A variety of health, fitness, and personal enrichment activities are offered to encourage an active lifestyle, independence, healthy nutrition, and financial planning. Other services provided include benefits enrollment assistance and Elder Abuse Victim Advocacy.
