Senior Activity Centers

KWA oversees the operation of two senior centers in partnership with the City of Tacoma:

  • Beacon Senior Activity Center
  • Lighthouse Senior Activity Center

Participants are able to receive senior meals at both locations Monday through Friday.
Hours of operation are: 8 am – 3 pm and programming is available.

• Monday – Friday at Beacon Activity Center (415 13th Street)
• Monday – Friday at Lighthouse Activity Center (5016 A Street)

To participate in programs offered at the Centers, participants need to register through each center, be residents of the City of Tacoma residents, and are age 60 and older.

Shuttle transportation is available for Tacoma residents and should call the centers for further details and paperwork.

A variety of health, fitness, and personal enrichment activities are offered to encourage an active lifestyle, independence, healthy nutrition, and financial planning. Other services provided include benefits enrollment assistance and Elder Abuse Victim Advocacy.

Centers follow the Tacoma Public School District’s recommendation for late start and closures during inclement weather. View the inclement weather policy
